The project 'SEW,' carried out by a sewing factory in Nishi-Maizuru, Kyoto, focuses on sewing cities."The concept of ‘City Sewing' expands the objects being stitched from fabric to cities. Each designer interprets this consistent concept, taking an approach that aims to achieve experiential, symbolic, and integrative qualities." "Adapt the stitching style to the logo's design according to each project."
SEW STAY “SLOW SEAM”
The cluster of wooden houses spread across the area once divided the landscape of the sea and mountains from daily life. However, through the power of architecture, we aim to reconnect these elements, which were originally unified, and create new perspectives—like those offered by a telescope or camera. This approach seeks to extend the lodging experience beyond the interior of the building, opening it up to the outside environment.
SEW STAY “SOFT SEAM”
Rather than merely consuming tourism, we propose a "slow tourism" approach that allows guests to fully experience the scents, winds, and atmosphere of the region. Our goal is to create a hotel where the landscape of Maizuru is always present, close to the guest's experience.
